Our Staff

John McIntosh started working at a Mercury dealership in northern Illinois in 1971.  In September 1977, John and his wife Marcia, started John's Motor Sports in Hayward.  Barry DePew joined our Staff in 1988, and is with us yet today.  Since we are a small dealership, we all wear a lot of hats and work as a team.

John

John began attending Mercury Marine service school in 1972, achieving his Certification in Outboard and Mercruiser in 1977.  He went on to achieve his Master Technician status in 1979.  John is an active member of the Antique Outboard Motor Club International (AOMCI) and spends his free time repairing and restoring vintage Mercury Marine products, including Mercury snowmobiles.  See www.johnsmcintosh.com

Barry

Barry began attending Mercury Marine Service School in 1992 achieving his Certification in Outboard and Mercruiser in 1995.  Barry earned his Master Technician status in 2002.  Barry is our Optimax and Verado specialist.  Oddly enough, he also enjoys working on Chrysler/Force products.  Barry is married to Amanda, and they have three wonderful children.  Barry volunteers his spare time to the Hayward School District football program.

Marcia

Marcia is our front-counter person, service-writer, sales, parts, and accessories manager.  She has attended sales and service management classes at Mercury Marine.  Marcia volunteers her spare time as treasurer of the local Northwoods Humane Society.

So, if you want to count years of experience at our dealership, we have 88 years!
